I look forward to working with you and helping you become a better writer and student!

Perry Miles

Perry started Miles Smart Tutoring as the only one in the organization before bringing in professionals. He still tutors to this day! His passion was to help students in need so they could succeed by developing study skills, study habits and appropriate problem solving techniques. Even though his business has been in existence since 2016, he has other passions in his life. Those passions include pickleball, basketball, baseball, hiking, chess and attending concerts. Mr Miles is also a huge fan of Metallica, pho, Indian food and Thai cuisine. While he exhibits some serious tendencies, his favorite movies include Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky.

Before founding the company, he was in the sports broadcast industry for 5 years. Perry will watch as many Yankees and Rangers games as possible while his girlfriend makes fun of him, rooting for Martin Brodeur’s former team (the Devils, Yuck!)

Mr Miles intends to travel internationally within the next few years in his hope of landing on five of the seven continents. It is a goal indeed!

Thomas Jose Chicas

Hi, my name is Thomas Jose Chicas. I was born in Torrance California on Friday, September 4th, 1987. I was adopted when I was three. I grew up working in a machine shop, mostly as a machinist. I was in Navy JROTC in high school. I joined the Marine Corp at 18 with an ASVAB score of 93. I was promoted to Sergeant before I left in 2010. I installed fiber optic telecommunication equipment for a few years before I went back to school and got an Associate’s degree in physics from Miramar community college and a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California in Riverside. Afterwards I worked as a consultant for my cousin’s mortgage company for a while before I left (don’t ever work with family, lol).

In my spare time I love playing video games, right now I’m playing Fallout 4. I collect NES games. I enjoy repairing and restoring things, mainly furniture, household appliances, and anything with a motor. I love gardening. I love hiking. I love spending time with my friends and visiting new places with them. I love meeting new people.

In the future I hope to publish a paper I’ve been working on for over a year now. I’ll either start a business or nonprofit around it or sell it.

Trevor Carter

Subjects: Biochemistry, Biology, Science, Chemistry 1&2, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry 1&2, Math, Algebra 1&2, Trigonometry, and Precalculus; can also do Calculus 1&2.

My name is Trevor Carter and I live in Northeast Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I have a passion for helping others which is why I am pursuing medical school to become a doctor.

I have significant experience in tutoring and mentoring and I know just how important these services are, as I have been tutored and mentored many times throughout my academic career. I am very open-minded and easy to get along with; I also serve as a confidant for students to discuss any topic that they may choose to discuss. I take pride in being a very determined, hard-working individual.

I have significant knowledge in many disciplines and I am able to work fast due to this, although I am human and cannot know every single minutia of a topic off the top of my head, I promise that I will work diligently until I find the answer to whatever question we are tackling. I am very motivated and I truly care about providing the best assistance possible, therefore I am not afraid of spending extra time with students until I feel confident that they are well versed in a topic. I look forward to meeting you!
